SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug 06, 2015 (BUSINESS WIRE) — SolaTrim LLC, the Sacramento, CA based start-up vying for the top position in the Residential Solar Market as the preferred aesthetic skirting and pest abatement barrier, announced today that Mark Roe, former VP of Operations & Engineering for SolarCity Corporation, has joined SolaTrim as a Partner.
San Francisco resident Roe joined SolarCity in February 2011, leading the company’s entire business planning, operations, engineering, supply chain, and service functions. He was a major influence in taking SolarCity public in late 2012 and growing them into the dominant residential solar company in the country by 2014. Before joining SolarCity, Mr. Roe led Apple’s entire Worldwide Service organization at Apple for over five years.
Mr. Roe indicated he will commit significant time, energy, and funding to SolaTrim’s growth. He gave this statement: “I saw in SolaTrim an innovative product that finally and completely solves the nagging pest abatement challenges in the skyrocketing residential solar business while simultaneously providing a remarkably attractive cosmetic skirting around rooftop solar arrays. Our goal is to make SolaTrim the de facto standard in residential solar for homeowners, installers, HOA’s, and financiers to enhance the aesthetics and longevity of their investments.”
Bob Smith, President of SolaTrim, issued this statement: “We are very pleased and excited to have Mark joining us, and as we continue to drive adoption of our product and capture greater market share, we look forward to the business advantage that Mark’s knowledge, experience and insight will bring. For SolaTrim, he is the right person at the right time.”
SolaTrim began in late 2013 when Bill Lasell and Bob Smith pooled their individual experience in solar construction, manufacturing and marketing to create a product that would enhance the “look” of residential solar, while providing life-long protection for PV systems – and the investment needed to build and maintain them.
SolaTrim strives to provide residential solar integrators and consumers with an affordable, attractive and dependable product that will enhance, maintain and protect their renewable energy investment for decades to come.
It is our goal at SolaTrim to continue to develop and manufacture Made in the USA solar aftermarket products that will improve and support America’s solar initiative.
